How Remodeling Pricing Works at VIP Services

Itemized estimates, a simple payment schedule and no large upfront deposit. Here is how we price a remodel and how you pay for it.

Itemized, Menu-Priced Estimates Instead of a Lump Sum

For over 25 years, VIP Services has provided itemized, detailed estimates rather than a single lump-sum number. Every estimate uses menu pricing: each part of the project is listed with its own price, so you can choose what you need and remove what you don’t. You always know exactly what you are paying for.

Menu pricing also keeps our quotes consistent from one homeowner to the next. We do not use fake discounts, and the price includes insured, in-house work. We don’t use commissioned salespeople to inflate your costs or push unnecessary extras. Our project pricing page explains why our number is not always the lowest and what that number includes.

Why We Meet You Before We Price the Job

We do not give estimates over the phone. A remodeling price that is not based on your actual home is a guess, and guesses turn into surprises halfway through a project. Instead, we meet you in person, ask specific questions to understand what you want, and then provide a written, detailed estimate that includes our preparation and installation procedures.

Not ready for a visit yet? Our I Just Need a Budget call is a no-obligation way to plan. With a few photos and details, we can usually give you realistic numbers to plan around before you commit to anything. For tips on comparing bids, read Did They Just Email the Quote?

What Moves the Price of a Remodel Up or Down

Two remodels of the same size can land at very different prices. The biggest factors are usually the scope of the work, whether the layout or plumbing is changing, and the materials and finishes you select. Custom and special-order items add lead time and cost, while keeping existing layouts and choosing in-stock materials keeps a project leaner.

Because your estimate is itemized, you can see exactly how each choice affects the total and adjust before work begins, instead of discovering the cost of a decision after it has been made.

Our Payment Schedule: 25% on Start Day, Then Weekly Progress Payments

You won’t need to send a big check and wonder whether someone will show up in a few weeks. There is no large upfront deposit to secure your spot on our schedule. Instead, the payment schedule follows the work:

  • 25% is due on start day, the day work begins at your home.
  • Weekly progress payments follow as work is completed, so you pay for progress, not promises.
  • Custom or special-order items do require payment when they are ordered.

The video below walks through the schedule step by step.

Pay for Progress, Not Promises

This short video explains how payments work on a VIP Services remodel.

What you’ll see:

  • Why 25% is due on start day
  • How weekly progress payments follow completed work
  • How your retainer is credited back
  • Why special-order items are paid when ordered

Remodeling Pricing FAQs

Do I have to pay a large deposit to get on your schedule?

No. You don’t need a substantial upfront deposit to secure your spot. 25% is due on start day, and custom or special-order items are paid when they are ordered.

How do progress payments work?

After start day, you make weekly progress payments as work is completed, so what you pay tracks the work actually done in your home.

Can I remove items from my estimate to fit my budget?

Yes. Our estimates use menu pricing, so every item is priced separately and you can choose what you need and remove what you don’t.

Can you give me a price over the phone or by email?

We do not give estimates over the phone, because an accurate estimate requires seeing your home. If you only need a planning number, our budget call can usually provide realistic figures from a few photos and details.

What happens if I change something in the middle of the project?

You receive a written change order showing the change and its price, and nothing is adjusted until you approve it.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Qualified clients can get 0% promotional financing for up to 18 months, and 7-year terms are available. Learn more on our financing options page.
